You’ll find the Tarnished Truth on the lower level of The Historic Cavalier Hotel, adjacent to the Hunt Room. Tarnished Truth uses old and new distilling techniques to create a superb portfolio of award-winning locally crafted bourbon, rye whiskey, vodka, gin and other specialty spirits. Stop by the tasting room or join us for a guided distillery tour.

Tarnished Truth Distilling Company was born on the shores of Virginia Beach and has received accolades for each of its craft-distilled spirits. Guests of the Cavalier Resort and locals alike are invited to join us for grain-to-glass distillery tours hosted by expert distillery guides for a unique must-do experience.
Tours and Tastings
Tour and tasting hours are Thursday through Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Ready to take some home? The retail shop is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Private Events
The distillery’s intimate private tasting room is perfect for birthdays, corporate meetings, pairing dinners and special private events, with seating for 18 and audio visual equipment for presentations.

The Cavalier Hotel’s historic tavern and roaring fireplace have been welcoming visitors for more than 75 years. The restaurant and bar have been meticulously restored brick by brick to offer delicious handcrafted cocktails and rustic, old-world cuisine. Open Monday through Saturday for happy hour and dinner.
